Melissa Chaudoin, PT, DPT

Melissa was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii with her husband in 2013.
Melissa graduated summa cum laude with her Master’s in Science in Physical Therapy in 2009 and Minor in Psychology from Misericordia University. Shortly after entering the field, she completed the transitional doctoral degree program to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011.
Melissa has worked in skilled nursing, long term care, and outpatient rehab settings for the past 15 years. Melissa has extensive gerontologic experience, using evidence-based approaches to effectively evaluate and treat patients with both acute (stroke, Guillan Barre, mTBI), and chronic neurological conditions (Parkinson’s Disease, MS, TBI, dementia, ALS). Melissa’s area of particular interest in which she specializes is vestibular rehab, or the treatment of patients with dizziness and balance disorders. She completed certification for vestibular rehab and concussion management in 2018 through the American Institute of Balance. More recently, in 2023, she has furthered her qualifications with Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency from Duke University School of Medicine. With this specialized training, Melissa is adept at using specialized equipment to better diagnose the root cause of vestibular-related dizziness and provide appropriate progressions in treatment in order to achieve better outcomes for her patients.
Melissa enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two young children, baking, and relaxing at the beach.
