About our Clinic Manager
Kim has been a Physical Therapist since 2007 specializing in outpatient orthopedics. She specializes in manual therapy and customized exercise programs for all fitness levels from beginners in exercise to college and semi-pro level athletes. She strongly believes physical therapy not only has an important role in rehabilitation from injuries, but also in providing lifelong wellness beyond the treatment period.
Kim is a Southern California native. She completed her undergraduate studies Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cal Poly Pomona in 2003. She continued on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at Western University of Health Sciences where she received numerous academic achievement awards graduating at the top of her class. Kim received her certificate as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2007 and continues to be active in the fitness community.
Upon graduation from physical therapy school, Kim joined one of the elite orthopedic practices in South Orange County, California. She worked with 11 board-certified orthopedic surgeons, each with their individual specialties providing Kim with a wide variety of musculoskeletal diagnoses.
As a physical therapist, Kim incorporates her manual therapy techniques which are a combination of soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, myofascial trigger point release, IASTM and joint mobilizations. Kim loves to combine her expertise in manual therapy with her knowledge of a variety of exercises including functional body weight exercises, resistive training, yoga, pilates, BOSU balls, TRX straps and high intensity interval training.
Although originally a California girl, Kim is no stranger to the Hawaiian Islands. She visited Hawai'i every other summer since the age of 6, fell in love with the land, the beautiful water, the culture and the Aloha spirit, only propelling her desire to move to Hawaii one day. She fulfilled her dream by studying at UH Manoa for a semester exchange program during her last year of undergraduate school. She was also able to experience two of her clinical rotations on Oahu including Castle Medical Center in Kailua and a private outpatient clinic in Kaimuki. Kim always knew her heart belonged in Hawai'i, its community of people and with its culture, so it deemed suitable to return to the islands and give back to the community that drew her there.
When she is out of the clinic, Kim enjoys running, functional strength training, hiking, ohana paddling, and a relaxing day at the beach with her husband and her blue heeler/lab mix in tow. She has trained for 10Ks, half-marathons and the annual LavaMan Triathlon as a relay participant in the run, and is looking to continue her love for the outdoors here on the Big Island.
Kim was enthusiastic to join such a reputable clinic and team in the Waimea community. She joined BodyPro Physical Therapy in April of 2016 and has helped manage and grow the company with the addition of a much needed Kapaau location to service the community of North Kohala. She is also involved in helping to open the exciting 3rd location addition in the new Waikoloa Plaza in 2021. Kim wants to continue to be a leading provider of physical therapy, health and wellness in the North West Hawai'i community.
